Innovations are increasingly emerging at the interface between two industries. So why not bring together two emerging markets and develop future business models together? At Content Foresight Health, Hamburg's media and digital industry met with players from the healthcare market. In a foresight process, four futures were created in which joint strategic fields of action were sought. Ideas were developed on this basis.
The three companies BKK VBU (health insurance company), Carlsen Verlag (children's book publisher) and MaibornWolff (software developer) jointly developed a solution to encourage children to exercise more. A virtual animal avatar interacts with the child in a similar way to a Tamagotchi and playfully encourages the child to move more in everyday life. The avatar reacts to the health data provided by the child.
"This programme has set a benchmark and proven that interdisciplinary collaboration really makes sense. The work here has also shown that creative processes can be designed digitally in an original way and that personal closeness can be established if everyone gets involved."
"It was an enriching experience to accompany the process with such different people and companies. The heterogeneity of the team and the different perspectives led to great results. We will certainly stay in touch and continue to learn from each other!
"Exploring the future with Method was impressive - especially thanks to the very diverse perspectives from the content and health sectors. Together, we were able to identify starting points for products and services that will be relevant in ten years' time - at least to a significant degree."
Over a period of several months, interdisciplinary teams develop concepts and prototypes at the interface of content and other industries for a broad time horizon of up to 10 years. The foresight method is used to analyse both empirically verifiable trend developments and uncertain factors. Vague determinants are incorporated into the scenario technique, the "supreme discipline" of strategic foresight. Various creative techniques and methods are used to open up new perspectives.
