In the Cross Innovation Lab, Tesa asked itself how new products for end consumers could be developed around the core competence of "gluing". An initial strategic search area was the increasing importance of the home and the flexible demands placed on it by changing lifestyles.
The result is a modular ecosystem for flexible home design. Individual decorative elements can be flexibly attached and rearranged using plug-in systems and adhesive connections.
In the Cross Innovation Lab, the first product ideas were developed together with the creative experts, validated in market research and then developed into prototypes. Tesa is currently working on the further development and market launch of the ecosystem.

"Our aim is to expand the product portfolio beyond adhesive tapes. Ultimately, the aim is to enable consumers to design their environment easily and without tools. I really enjoyed working with everyone involved in the Cross Innovation Lab. The result is a concrete product idea for decorating living spaces that we now want to realise. Working with the creative minds was extremely inspiring and gave us important impulses. My personal highlight was the openness of everyone involved in the creative process. This is what a start-up within a large technology group feels like!"
In the Cross Innovation Lab, companies come together in changing constellations over a period of six weeks to work together on product developments in a stimulating environment. Experts from the creative industries are specifically involved in the process.
In the iterative work process, companies develop new products or product adaptations in a significantly reduced amount of time.
With over 5000 employees worldwide, Tesa is one of the largest producers of innovative adhesive solutions for end consumers and industry. Up to 100 new adhesive tape solutions are created every year, which constantly expand the large product range of over 7000 products.
